Degrees in history, German philology and empirical cultural studies at the University of Tübingen and the University of Bordeaux (1978–84), doctorate at the University of Essen, director of the cultural council of Fellbach (1985–94), cultural adviser for the City of Ravensburg (1994–2002). Professor of Cultural Studies and Cultural Management at the Ludwigsburg University of Education since 2003. Programme director of the MA in Cultural Studies and Cultural Management, head of the academic committee and examination board for the courses in cultural management.
